From Curaçao to Germany: Serena Israel’s XL Chichi Roadshow

Chichi is thrilled to share that in September 2024, the Curaçao Tourist Board, in partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, will bring a touch of Curaçao’s vibrant culture to Germany. From September 9 to 12, 2024, the roadshow will journey through Munich, Nuremberg, Mannheim or Heidelberg, and Cologne, showcasing live painting by our esteemed artist Serena Israel on an XL Chichi.

The Story Behind the XL Chichi

The XL Chichi available for auction is a profoundly personal and abstract piece, narrating the story of Serena’s life. Through rich symbolism, it captures her adventures sailing the world, her life in Curaçao, her experiences of love and motherhood, her encounters with loss, her journey in entrepreneurship, and her deep connections with culture, community, faith, and nature. This distinctive piece not only highlights Serena’s exceptional artistry but also shares her inspiring life journey.

Painting with Purpose

Throughout the roadshow, Serena will be painting an XL Chichi sculpture live at each of the four cities. This one-of-a-kind painted Chichi, valued at approximately €4,500, will be auctioned for charity at the final event in Cologne on September 13, 2024. The auction’s proceeds will benefit the Bergwaldprojekt e.V., a German organization focused on forest conservation and environmental education.

A Cause Close to the Heart

Serena’s decision to donate the Chichi sculpture to this cause reflects her commitment and dedication to making a positive impact through art. The Chichi, symbolizing care, strength, and community, perfectly aligns with the mission of Bergwaldprojekt e.V.’ s mission. This collaboration not only raises funds for a meaningful cause but also spreads the message of sustainability and cultural exchange.
