#70 Shulaika Petronilia

– born in Curaçao

My name is Shulaika Petronilla, painter #70, and art has always been a special part of who I am. Through color, creativity, and detail, I bring stories and emotions to life in every piece I create. Inspired by the beauty and spirit of ChiChi® sculptures dolls, my artwork reflects strength, culture, joy, and the beauty of Caribbean identity.

Being a “ChiChi” in Curaçao means more than simply being an older sibling, it represents love, responsibility, guidance, and strength within the family. As a ChiChi myself, I carry that meaning proudly and express it through my art. Every painting reflects not only creativity, but also the warmth, resilience, and vibrant spirit of our culture.

I enjoy creating bold and meaningful pieces that connect with people and make them feel seen, inspired, and uplifted. From delicate details to colorful expressions, every artwork is created with passion, patience, and originality.

One of the greatest joys for me is seeing others appreciate and connect with my work. Their support inspires me to continue growing as an artist, exploring new ideas, and sharing the beauty of our culture through art.

For me, art is more than painting, it is expression, storytelling, and a celebration of who we are.
