“I have no kids but I love my 3 dogs. Nine years ago my husband Frans and I decided to move to Curaçao. We have been here on vacation many times before and we made plans to move to a warm country after both of us retired.
And Curaçao seemed like the best option!!! Since July 2015 I am painting Chichi®s. I collect the sculptures and one day I came to the walk in workshop with a friend of mine so I could paint my own. Serena loved what I have created and she asked for my phone number.
Usually I paint in a separate room at home or outside on my porch. I feel totally relaxed while I’m busy painting. I’m completely focused on my work and sometimes I don’t even hear it when my husband speaks to me. I truly enjoy it.
Sometimes it’s hard to hand in the Chichi®s. Because I am a collector I intend in wanting to keep the best ones for myself. But I grant other people the satisfaction of owning a Chichi® as well.
Besides painting Chichi®s I like best is ‘Chillen op de Antillen’.”
