1. Introduction

The Chichi® sculptures are a vibrant and significant part of Curaçao’s cultural heritage. Created by Serena Israel in 2008, the main Chichi® sculpture represents the loving, caring, and responsible oldest sister who brings the family together, but besides the Chichi® sculptures, Chichi also has her entire family surrounding her.

Chichi® sculptures are known for their vibrant colors, creative designs. Each sculpture is unique, reflecting the artist’s creativity and the cultural heritage of Curaçao. The sculptures are made from plaster and painted with high-quality, vibrant paints to ensure they stand out and reflect the Caribbean heritage.

2. Chichi Painting Experience

Workshop Details: At Chichi® Garden, visitors can participate in Chichi® painting workshops.
This can either be during a Walk-in Experience or a VIP Experience. These workshops offer a unique opportunity to paint your own Chichi® sculpture or one of Chichi’s family members, guided by local Chichi® artists and employees.

To avoid disappointment, please note that not every sculpture may always be available to paint.
As a tip, we recommend selecting two favorites in advance just in case one is unavailable. Availability is limited.

Purchase Restrictions: Please note that we do not sell our Chichi® sculptures in their white, unpainted state. This is because we believe that the true value lies in the experience of painting a Chichi® sculpture during our Chichi® Experience in Curaçao. By participating in this workshop, you will have the opportunity to express your creativity while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and rich culture of our beautiful island. This unique experience allows you to create a personalized piece of art and enjoy a memorable and enriching cultural activity.
