#81 Kirsten Hermes-Henstra

–          born in 1983 in Den Helder, the Netherlands

I reside in Curaçao since 2016, I live together with my husband & dachshunds and I work in the hospitality industry. In 2018 I started painting on driftwood and from childhood I have always loved to draw. I wholeheartedly accepted the opportunity to become a Chichi painter. Since 2022 I have my own number #81 and with great pride I show my work.

I get my inspiration from my surroundings, than I mean above and under water! Curaçao is so colorful, cheerful and beautiful! I like to paint flamingos, the underwater world, but I also really like to paint cacti in different colors.

At home I paint outside under a canopy at the dining table, which now no longer can be used for dinners 😉 While painting I feel happy about the thought that this Chichi will make someone else happy too. I incorporate my love for Curaçao into all my Chichi’s!

Did you know that…. Kirsten is also a certified scubadiver, she does underwater photography and goes for a daily run in the beautiful nature of Curaçao! She gets lots of inspiration from doing this. You can meet Kirsten in the heart of Punda, where she has been working with great pleasure at Plein Café Wilhelmina since 2016.
