Going royal

In 2013 King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands came to Curaçao for a royal visit. The elementary school, Marnix, wanted to give them a gift for their visit, so we jumped at the opportunity and decided to donate a custom made royal Dutch Chichi® couple. The hotel that hosted the royal family also wanted to give them a special gift, therefore we were able to make a matching royal trio of princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane.  Serena also got to personally meet the King and Queen (sovereign) and even give them a handshake.

A bright idea

In 2013 Landhuis Bloemhof was hosting an expo in honor of the Dutch Royal family, where they asked Serena to participate as one of the artists from Curaçao. Serena is a person who is always looking for new ways to be innovative and improve her business. She always had the idea to create a lamp in the shape of Chichi®, this was the perfect opportunity for her to bring her idea to life. But being the unorthodox thinker that she is, she decided to put the lamp inside of a large orange cube. This was a way for her to challenge people to always think outside the box, even if you are in it.
